The Garden of Death

On Anandaria, the Gods have clear regions for themselves. Those holy areas are for their living priests, priestesses and servants. They are the only ones allowed there. The altogether exception is Lucifer, the God of Death. His sacred areas are all cemeteries, and all grounds where even just one person was laid in the ground to rest in piece. Being the strongest among Gods, and the only one not allowed prejudice among them all, he focused all these holy lands in one place in his dimension, where he resides when not working, in Barathrum. It was near his castle, and only two people could enter the garden. His wife, and Lucifer himself. This garden was special. This is where all spirits and souls who were weary and tired of existing could rest a few centuries before they were allowed to go back. Some refused this, and served as Lucifer's guards, servants, or just simply lived in the city surrounding the area. The sinners were handled worst, their punishment lasting ages, but then they were allowed rest as well.

Anyways, the garden was special. It was filled with roses, which only showed colors of different shades of grey, blue, and white, adding some rare black ones. However, these were not rose bushes. These were roses blooming separately, looking much like the roses that were gifted. However, the fact that these flowers bloomed under the silver moonlight, this was not the special thing. Each flower had a coccoon attached to a leaf. Which didn't have those, already had the butterflies, and the flower was in full bloom. These were the souls. All people who died were allowed a chance by Lucifer himself to live a life much like on Anandaria, except in his realm, or they could rest in the forms of butterflies. If they chose that, the cocoon immediately hatched, and another glowing butterfly joined the others already in the garden. The butterflies themselves were all different colored. Each one glowed with one color, but none were the same. They all were changing as well. Each had two identical marks on their wings. On young ones, those looked like lines, on older ones, those were like black holes of different types. Those were the eyes of the soul. They change as time goes by. Those, which are fully open enjoy their stay a little longer before flying to Lucifer, who will pick their flower, and send them back to be reborn. The butterfly dies as the flower does, however, as a precaution, only Lucifer could pick any of the flowers. The garden is never empty.

And it's perfect like that. At least Lucifer has a place of solitude to rest his weary mind at.
Well, that's all I can say.

Inspired by Fatal Frame 2, later figured out, that Bleach could have been the same... but nope. It was FF2 inspired.
